Modern Language Center has proudly stood as a beacon of excellence in language education since its establishment in 1970. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to education, the center was honored with the Order of Education Medal by the late King Hussein bin Talal in 1992.

For over 55 years, the center has played a vital role in training and empowering thousands of learners — students, professionals, businesspeople, homemakers, and employees from public and private institutions — enabling them to master a wide range of modern languages with confidence and success.

In 2016, the center expanded its services by establishing a University Services Office, dedicated to supporting students pursuing higher education abroad — a testament to our commitment to global learning opportunities.

A Vision Rooted in Passion. A Legacy Built Through Language.

The Modern Language Center was founded by the late Professor Youssef Awad, a visionary born in 1936 in a village on the outskirts of Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem). With limited resources but unwavering determination, he journeyed to the United States, where he earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration. Upon returning to his homeland, he recognized a pressing need — the creation of a cultural hub where language could bridge people, ideas, and opportunities.

Driven by this mission, Professor Awad established the Modern Language Center in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, Amman. His goal: to promote the Arabic language and introduce learners to world languages in a meaningful, empowering way.

Today, over five decades later, the center continues to uphold his vision. It has preserved its warm, family-oriented environment while evolving into a leading institution for language learning in the region. Thousands have walked through its doors — from students and professionals to housewives, volunteers, NGO workers, and employees from both public and private sectors.

Serving learners of all ages and backgrounds — from Jordan, neighboring Arab countries, Europe, and Asia — the center offers expertly designed programs that help students master living languages with confidence, clarity, and cultural understanding.

The legacy of Professor Youssef Awad lives on — in every classroom, every conversation, and every success story shaped by the power of language.

The family atmosphere that we maintain in our relationship with students, and which we are very keen on is one of our most important advantages and contributed to our progress from success to success, continuous growth and giving, and of course the quality of education and dedication led to the honor of the Modern Language Center with the Education Medal, which it awarded The Center, the late King Hussein bin Talal, may God rest his soul, also led to the center obtaining a permanent license (for life) from the Ministry of Education in Jordan.
