MLC offers preparatory courses for students wishing to be examined in the TOEFL test. The TOEFL test is an internationally renowned English – language test acknowledged and approved by colleges and institutions worldwide. It determines students’ ability to use English in academic settings and at the University level. The Internet-based Test (iBT) is the official international TOEFL exam used to test the four key skills of effective communication: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Our iBT Preparation Course provides all the tips and tricks needed for you to obtain optimum results on your TOEFL.

TOEFL iBT Content

The content for iBT is divided as follows:

Listening

34 – 51 Questions (60 – 90 Minutes)

Reading

36 – 70 Questions (60 – 100 Minutes)

Speaking

6 Tasks (20 Minutes)

Writing

2 Tasks (50 Minutes)

About TOEFL iBT Scores

Each section of the iBT TOEFL is graded separately, and then combined to calculate your total TOEFL score.

Here’s an idea of how you are graded:

How to Prepare for iBT

Our syllabus will set you on the course to success with ample material to prepare you for the TOEFL iBT exam. The official Barron’s “TOEFL iBT” book complete with a CD-ROM is chock full of essential information to prepare you for the iBT test. You will be instructed in the following:
? Reading and understanding the orientation of the iBT
? Taking model pre-tests with answer sheets and explanations
? Learning how to pinpoint your weaknesses and concentrate on what skills you need to strengthen most

In addition to Barron’s iBT guidebook, our teachers will also instruct you on the official Barron’s “How to Prepare for the TOEFL Essay” book, to ensure optimum performance on the writing section of iBT. Included are:

? Help on topic selection information
? Organization techniques
? Foolproof tips on analyzing and editing essays

With the aid of a trained and experienced instructor to guide you through the course, your ample preparation for the IELTS examination is 100% assured.

Class Timings:

Evening Hours:

4:15 – 6:05 p.m. / 6:15 p.m. – 8:05 p.m.

Course Length: 42 hours.

Note: In order to be admitted into the TOEFL iBT course, you are required to achieve a minimum score of 76% on the MLC Placement Test.
The Placement Test can be taken weekdays from 9 AM – 12 PM, or 4 PM – 7 PM for a fee of 10 JDs.

How to Register for the iBT Exam

You may register directly with ETS online or by phone (follow this link) or for an additional fee you may register in person at a local testing center (please contact MLC at 462-5582 or 463-8373 for more details). Remember, you still need to meet the registration deadlines and complete a TOEFL registration form.
