A Comprehensive Experience for Learning Arabic and Living in Jordan

Since its establishment in 1970, the Modern Language Center (MLC) in Amman has maintained its leading position as one of the most prominent educational institutions specializing in teaching Arabic to international students, combining decades of academic expertise with a modern, interactive approach that makes language learning a natural part of everyday life.

The Center follows a practical and experiential learning approach that bridges classroom study with real-life engagement through cultural field activities and interactive language experiences with local partners, allowing students to enjoy a rich educational journey that blends knowledge, practice, and authentic cultural immersion.

Students may choose two or three core courses, along with a variety of engaging elective subjects offered in Arabic or English, enabling them to design a flexible academic program that matches their personal interests and academic goals.

To ensure student comfort and safety, MLC has built a modern student residence designed to meet the highest standards of security, comfort, and technology, offering all facilities and recreational services within one building — providing a complete and convenient living experience without the need for any third-party providers.

To further expand students’ international education opportunities, MLC’s management established in 2016 the MLB for Study Abroad office, officially licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jordan — the authority responsible for accrediting local universities. This office offers comprehensive academic services, including university admissions and the organization of study programs both in Jordan and abroad at top-ranked universities around the world.

The Modern Language Center is distinguished by its full integration, extensive experience, and operational independence. It delivers all its educational and administrative services directly through its qualified academic staff, dedicated transportation fleet, and fully equipped student residence, all officially licensed according to the regulations of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and international standards.

Thanks to this seamless integration of education, accommodation, transportation, and the MLB Study Abroad Office, studying at MLC offers a comprehensive, safe, and well-organized experience — combining academic excellence, comfortable living, cultural immersion, and exciting excursions to Jordan’s historic landmarks.

Our center is proud to host a distinguished group of highly qualified instructors, all specialized in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (TAFL) and equipped with decades of experience in guiding learners from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Volunteer Experiences for International Students in Jordan

At the Modern Language Center, we offer our Arabic-for-non-native learners a meaningful cultural experience through voluntary community activities.
Our international students participate in programs with Tkiyet Um Ali, helping prepare and distribute food parcels to families in need. They can also visit refugee camps and elderly care homes in Jordan after obtaining the required permits.

These activities are optional, yet they provide students with an inspiring opportunity to connect with Jordanian society in a genuine and impactful way.

Modern Language Center Graduation – Your Moment to Shine

It is the moment we celebrate our students’ achievements after a semester filled with learning, friendships, and unforgettable experiences. At the end of every course, we host our special “Day of Achievements” ceremony, attended by the founder and owner of the Modern Language Center, Mr. Faris Awad, along with teachers and distinguished guests. During the event, certificates are awarded to the successful students in an atmosphere full of pride and joy.

And as the celebration begins, emotions start to mix…
After weeks of studying, exploring Jordan’s most beautiful sites, discovering a new culture, and adapting to new traditions—the moment of farewell approaches. It’s a day where the happiness of graduation blends with the bittersweet feeling of preparing to return home, carrying memories that will last a lifetime.

It’s more than just education… it’s a complete journey.

Cuisine is more than food — it’s culture and life itself

At Modern Language Center, learning a language is more than just classroom instruction — it’s a full cultural experience.
Through our in-house kitchen, international students enjoy authentic Arabic meals while exploring the true flavors of Jordanian cuisine. We also organize special workshops where students learn how to prepare traditional Arabic dishes and famous oriental desserts.

During national and religious occasions, we bring the spirit of celebration to life by serving seasonal specialties and offering hands-on activities for making traditional sweets such as Ma’amoul and Kanafeh, allowing students not only to learn the culture, but truly live it.

An experience to taste, live, and remember.
