Our center was awarded the Medal of Education by the late King Hussein, may God have mercy on him.
Praise be to God, who revealed the Quran in clear Arabic. Peace and blessings be upon the most eloquent of Arabs and non-Arabs, our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and upon his family and all his companions.
The Modern Languages Center was founded in 1970 by my late father, Professor Yusuf Hassan Awad (may God have mercy on him). He was born in Jerusalem in 1936 in the village of Al-Issawiya, a suburb of Jerusalem. With limited resources but great faith, he traveled to the United States to pursue higher education, earning a master’s and bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration. Upon returning to his homeland, he recognized the necessity of establishing a cultural center for languages to serve the people of his country and enhance the status of Arabic and foreign languages.
Five decades have passed since the Modern Languages Center was founded in Jabal Al-Luwaibdeh, and it continues to thrive, playing a vital role in qualifying and training thousands, enabling them to successfully and confidently master various courses in modern languages (students, businesspeople, homemakers, and employees of government institutions).
The mutual trust between the center and its course participants, which we cherish deeply, has propelled us from success to success, fostering continuous growth and contribution through modern methods and a comfortable environment. Due to this success, the center was honored with the Medal of Education, awarded by the late King Hussein bin Talal, may God have mercy on him, and received a permanent “lifetime” license from the Jordanian Ministry of Education.
Internationally, the Modern Languages Center is accredited by some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including the University of Michigan in the United States and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, as well as other universities around the globe in countries such as Turkey, Greece, Canada, and Australia. A new subsidiary of the center, the Modern Languages Office for University Student Services, was established to secure university admissions in various foreign and local countries and to offer scholarships.
