11 أكتوبرWhat was the defining turning point in your life that led you into this path?
There have been lots of turning points in my life. I achieved so much at an early age mainly because I knew exactly what I wanted. I graduated from university and started working at 19. It was my dream job, so I kept reapplying to the same position as a news writer since I was 16, because that was what I wanted to do. By the age of 26 I was chief editor and senior political correspondent and by 29 I was Director of JTV’s Satellite channel, back when there were only 25 channels across the Arab world. As a young woman working in a government institution, it was an achievement, but also a
challenge. I was lucky back then to have worked with a very progressive General Director who invested in people. I later won an award from CNN for a political report I filed for one of the networks’ acclaimed news shows. Eventually, I turned to the corporate world. I have matured a lot since then, and learnt a lot of lessons, the hard way.
